What Worked For Me:

• It’s difficult in a a novella/novelette, to create a sense of love, romance, and commitment that’s believable, especially one that is as intensely hot as this one was, and yet Ms. Kennedy pulled it off and then some.  Oh yes there was plenty of “intense BDSM” as the author puts it, but the sweetness and believability of the romance itself was a very pleasant surprise.
• It’s a good thing that the weather is cold here at the moment, because I do believe I would have burst into flames reading this otherwise.  Spanking, flogging, toys, blindfolds, ropes, and backdoor play abound, jacking the steam rating up to a very solid Scorching level.  The dual perspectives also allow the reader to get into the heads of both lovers, which added another layer of eroticism to the story.

What Didn’t Work For Me:

• Über-minor point, because it was explained (and frankly, excused) quite well, but I didn’t particularly love the bit of shady undertone to some of the actions in the story.

Overall, this was a decadent little quickie that will definitely get the motor running for fans of BDSM. Clocking in at only 20 pages of story in PDF form, it still packs an incredible punch, with not only exceptional eroticism but also a delightful romance to go along with it.

Recommended for fans of fast, hot reads, of wickedly intense BDSM, and of realizing that sometimes the best Christmas present is one you never even thought to ask for.
