Today I saw a post on Pinterest that suggested making a facial scrub out of baking soda and water. Since I’ve long since run out of my Mary Kay Microdermabrasion stuff that I used to love, I decided to give this one a go, with a little twist.
Sadly, I didn’t measure, so my instructions are going to be a bit muddy. I also only made enough for one application, so keep in mind that I have no idea how long this would last if made ahead of time.
In a small container, add one part baking soda, one part cocoa powder, and about a tablespoon of heavy cream. Mix well. The consistency should vaguely resemble cake frosting.
I smeared it on my face like a mask and left it on about 15 minutes, until I got bored and decided to wash it off.
Using your fingers, gently massage it into your skin in small circles as you rinse.
By the way, don’t taste it. It may smell like chocolate cake, but… yeah.
The result? My skin is super soft, and it feels a bit tighter, though not “tight” like it was too dry.
Definitely something I will try again in the future.
