The Romanceaholic is proud to welcome back author Mina Carter, multi-talented author of some very hot sci-fi and paranormal romances, including a favorite of mine, Perfect Mate. So without further ado, here’s Mina!
Once again, thank you for having me on the blog, it’s great to be back
Today, I’m talking about my new release SOLAR STORM. I have a small confession to make. I’m a nerd. Seriously, a sci-fi nut. If there’s a new film, series or show which contains even a hint of sci-fi, I’m there hands down. And yes, I even went so far as to make Vulcan ears (out of paper) on headbands for my family to wear when we all sat down to watch the first show of the last ‘new’ trek series (yeah, that one. Years ago wasn’t it?
).
So, naturally after reading and watching so much over the years, the fact that I write sci-fi isn’t that surprising. I drive my friends mad with all the worlds and species I create. So much so, that some of the role play games I’m in (yeah, I’m that much of a nerd) I’m strictly limited to what I’m allowed to play (because chances are I’ll pick one of my own races and no one has a CLUE what’s going on).
SOLAR STORM is the result of one of those thought experiments. In it, we find the reality of the Solar Sailors, old-school type space-farers who use solar winds and roads to transport cargo over the galaxy. It’s a hard life, and dangerous, but someone’s gotta do it. That someone is Rhys Devin, a solar sailor with more than a few skeletons in her closet. Fast talking, and hard as nails, she sails the most dangerous road of them all: Icaria. So far she’s managed to outrun those skeletons. But when she stops to rescue a sailor in trouble, she realises that time just ran out…

She’s the one who got away. Now she’s uncharted territory…
Ten years after rich-girl life fell apart, Rhys Devin is a changed woman—her name, her face, and her attitude.
Now the fast-talking, hard-as-nails captain of the Grey Lady sails the most dangerous solar roads in the universe. Times are tough, but she gets the job done, sailing alone. Always watching over her shoulder.
The last thing she needs is a delay, but when she runs across a stranded sailor, she has no choice. The law of the road demands she rescue him.
Kelwin Sayeed is a soldier without a war. The retired War Commander’s latest and most ambitious hobby, the solar flyer Artemis, was supposed to prove him worthy of the famously reclusive Solar Sailors. Instead a catastrophic computer failure has him at the mercy of the most hazardous road of all; Icaria.
Confident he won’t be left to die in the golden spray, he waits for another sailor to come along. One that’s born and bred to the roads, with skin wizened like beaten gold. What he gets is a woman whose voice does things to his body that should be illegal. Whose golden-tinted skin sparks erotic fantasies.
The bride who ran from him a decade ago…
About the Author
Mina Carter was born and raised in Middle Earth (otherwise known as the Midlands, England). After a slew of careers ranging from logistics to land-surveying she can now be found in the wilds of Leicestershire with her husband, daughter and a cat who moved in and never left.
Suffering the curse of eternal curiosity Mina never tires of learning new skills which has led to Aromatherapy, Corsetry, Chain-maille making, Welding, Canoeing, Shooting, and pole-dancing to name but a few.
A full time author and cover artist, Mina can usually be found hunched over a keyboard or graphics tablet, frantically trying to get the images and words in her head out and onto the screen before they drive her mad. She’s addicted to coffee and Nutella on toast.
Mina is generously giving one lucky reader of this blog a copy of her hot novella, Protect and Service!

Eloise is a woman on a mission. She needs to find a date for the annual hospital ball, and fast. The trouble is she’s not only man-free but, after her bastard of an ex has a nasty little curse hurled her way, no human guy will touch her with a barge-pole—not after one of her dates ends up with green acne, another with a nose like Pinocchio…the list goes on.Out of options, Eloise ends up at the offices of the Paranormal Protection Agency. She’s not sure what to expect, but she certainly doesn’t expect Jared Stone. No one expects Stone…

thanks for the fun post and congrats to Mina on the new release! I’m a closet sci-fi nerd. Loved Star Trek, Star Wars, BSG, Stargate, Farscape, etc. but I don’t join the fandom… I just research the crap out of them and know all the trivia
I am a fan, but I do need to read more of the genre. I’ve always enjoyed STAR TREK.
